Meaning of Amrit:Amrit means A-Mrityu — “without death”; the opposite of Bikh (poison). Naam, Gurbani, Kirtan, and Divine Nectar are all described as Amrit because they bring spiritual life.
Purpose of Amrit:Amrit initiation ceremony gives Amrit in the form of Naam (Gur-mantar) and Divine Nectar (Paahul) as unlocking key to the Immortal Vaheguru. Without Amrit, Sach Khand (the Realm of Truth) cannot be reached.
Eternal Amrit Ceremony: On Vaisakhi 1699, through the Panj Pyaare, Guru Gobind Singh Ji established a timeless path for humanity to spiritually awaken through Amrit and living by Rehat (the code of living) to achieve the highest spiritual life.
Spiritual transformation: Receiving Amrit from the Panj Pyaare is following Hukam (Divine Order), which has the purpose to help Sikhs:
Become Guru’s Form (a reflection of the Guru)
Experience the inner Amrit — the nectar of spiritual life within
Awaken the internal Divine Light (Jyot)
Hear the Anhad Shabad, the unstruck Divine Sound
Join Akaal Purakh Ki Fauj (Vaheguru’s army) in serving humanity selflessly
