Satan does not exist in Sikhi in the same way as he does in Islam or Christianity. In those religions, Satan is seen as an opposing force to God, a negative power that stands against Him. Gurmat does not accept this idea. In Sikhi, Waheguru is the only all-pervading reality. He is present everywhere and within all creation. Satan, as understood in Islam and Christianity, does not have any universal or opposing authority in Sikhi.
The few times terms like Satan appear in Gurbani, they do not refer to a literal being. Instead, they point towards Maya, ego, and the negative tendencies of Kalyug that pull the mind away from Naam. These references are symbolic and should not be understood in the same sense as Satan is understood in other religions.
