In Delhi, when the British tore down the wall of Sri Rakab Ganj Sahib,
The Singhs awakened with alertness, ready to offer their heads.
Bhai Randhir Singh himself stepped forward to offer his head,
He led the wall's reconstruction fearlessly, while the monay hesitated in fear.
Sant Randhir Singh, who remained deeply absorbed in Naam,
Performed continuous keertan, filling minds with spiritual bliss.
He spent seventeen years in jail, eating only from sarbloh utensils,
Blessed is this beloved of the Guru, who sang with mind and body soaked in divine love.
These lines were written by Sant Gurbachan Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale, former Jathedar of Damdami Taksaal, in the book Gurmukh Parkash, in praise of Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh Ji.
Despite differences in maryada between Akhand Kirtani Jatha and Damdami Taksaal, the mutual love and deep respect these Gurmukh souls had for one another is clearly reflected in Sant Ji’s own words. This is the true spirit of the relationship between Taksaal and AKJ.
