Maha Mantar: ਮਹਾ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਗੁਰ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਬਸਿਓ ਅਚਰਜ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਨਿਓ ਰੀ ॥੩॥
Beej Mantar: ਬੀਜ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਸਰਬ ਕੋ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥
Mool Mantar: ਮੂਲ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਸਾਇਣੁ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੫॥
There is one primal and top Mantar which is referenced in Gurbani, that being the gupt Gurmantar, which is revealed by the Guru when He does Kirpa:
ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਗਾਝਾ ॥੨॥
I am a sacrifice to my True Guru, who has revealed the Lord’s hidden Name to me. ||2||
This Maha, Mool, Beej Gurmantar is revealed over and over again in the records of Gursikhs: Vaaran, Rehitnamay, etc. For example:
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਮੰਤੁ ਬਿਨ ਜਪੈ ਅਉਰ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਪ ।
ਸੋ ਸਾਕਤ, ਸਿਖ ਮੂਲ ਨਹਿ, ਬਾਚਤ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਮੁਖ ਆਪ ।7।
One who recites a Mantra other than the prescribed Gurmantar;
The Guru himself says such a shameless sinner is not a Sikh.
